The Division of Biostatistics in the newly established Department of Population Health Sciences at the University of Utah invites applications for a faculty position to support cancer research within the University’s Huntsman Cancer Institute. The successful applicant will serve as a co-director of the Institutes Cancer Biostatistics Core. Expertise in analysis data from metabolomics or proteomics studies, including pathway-based analyses, is desirable. The position will offer collaborations with cancer researchers in laboratory, clinical, and population sciences. Opportunities for independent scholarship in methodological research as well as teaching at the graduate, post-doctoral and faculty level are offered through the Department. We are seeking candidates who possess the research and communications skills to assume leadership roles in multi- disciplinary research teams within the institution and in national and international research networks.
The Department of Population Health Science will be an academic home for faculty conducting methodologically oriented research in disciplines related to population health. Research activities encompass discovery of new knowledge about determinants of health and disease. Faculty will capitalize on Utah’s world-class data resources and expertise in data processing and analysis. In addition to biostatistics, excellent opportunities are available for collaborative research in human genetics, genomics, epidemiological studies, systems biology, molecular biology, and bioinformatics.
