Applications are invited for the role of Statistician in the Pragmatic Clinical Trials Unit (PCTU) in the newly established Institute of Population Health Science. IPHS is a world class, multidisciplinary grouping of academics. Its focus is on population health sciences, spanning public and global health, health services research, health policy, genomics and data science, behavioral and social sciences. IPHS delivers evidence to implement health system change for population benefit.
The Institute comprises four centres : Centre for Primary Care and Mental Health, Centre for Clinical Trials and Methodology, Centre for Global Public Health and Centre for Women’s Health. The post will be based in the Centre for Clinical Trials and Methodology (CCTM). CCTM hosts the Queen Mary hub of Asthma UK Centre for Applied Research and the PCTU.
We are looking for experienced and enthusiastic statisticians with an interest in design of studies and experience of the life cycle of clinical trials including publications and designing trials, to complement our existing complement of 16 statisticians within PCTU - https://www.qmul.ac.uk/pctu/. You will join a vibrant team of trialists and play a leading role in study proposals, protocols, ethics applications, and project reports. You will also supervise junior statisticians in order to ensure (alongside other senior statisticians) that all statistical work is conducted to the highest standards.
We would like to make full-time or part-time fixed term appointments for 36 months starting as soon as possible. Applications from job sharers will be considered. Starting salary will be in the range of £47,325 to £52,833 per annum pro rata, inclusive of London Allowance.
