Associate Professor in Management Science, Saïd Business School, University of Oxford
The University of Oxford’s Saïd Business School seeks an outstanding candidate for the position of Associate Professor in Management Science. This is a permanent, full-time (tenure-track) faculty position based at Park End Street, Oxford. The post will be held in association with a Non-tutorial Fellowship at Green Templeton College, based on Woodstock Road, Oxford. Salary for the position is competitive and commensurate with qualifications. The associate professor grade encompasses both early career and more senior appointments. The post is tenable from 1 September 2020, or at an earlier or later date by negotiation.
The school welcomes applicants who specialise in any area of management science, including the applications of data science, statistics, operations research and/or machine learning to business/management-relevant problems. The successful candidate will be engaged in original world-class research in these fields, will give lectures and classes on taught graduate courses, including, MBA, Executive MBA, and doctoral courses. The postholder will be expected to take part in examining, and supervision of masters’ and doctoral students. The successful candidate will participate in the administration of the school and college, and co-operate in the work of the school both in term time and vacation.
The successful candidate should hold (or will be near to completing) a doctorate in a relevant discipline with an outstanding programme of research in management science (and related disciplines) that fits well with the school’s research strategy. The applicants will have a track record of internationally excellent publications (or the potential to produce such publications) in highly ranked, peer-reviewed academic journals, commensurate with the candidate’s career. The ability and willingness to teach, supervise, and assess high-achieving and challenging students from diverse cultural backgrounds at undergraduate, graduate and executive level. Including commitment to outstanding and innovative teaching. The successful applicant must be willing to work effectively as a colleague and as part of teams, and to contribute fully to the work of the school and college. They should have excellent interpersonal and communication skills necessary for undertaking teaching and the pastoral care of students. The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to the administration of the school and the governance of the college
