For those candidates doing research in mathematical economics and game theory, there will be the opportunity to carry out research activities in the framework of the group Game Theory and Assignment Markets (GTAM), www.ub.edu/gtam, which is part of the research institute Barcelona Economic Analysis Team (BEAT), www.ub.edu/beat. The goal of this group is to promote research excellence in all aspects of game theory and to contribute with applications to decision-making problems of our society. On the other hand, those candidates with research interest in financial and actuarial mathematics will have the opportunity to carry out research activities in the framework of the Actuarial and Financial Modelling (MFA) group and the Chair ICEA-UB in insurance and pension funds. The goals of these two research structures are to promote research excellence in actuarial and financial sciences and to disseminate its results to society (http://www.ub.edu/mfa/ and http://www.ub.edu/icea-ub/).
Successful applicants will be expected to teach in the undergraduate and postgraduate programs, to develop independent research programs achieving international recognition, and to be involved in the activities promoted by the Department and its research groups.
