We are seeking to appoint a Professor in Biostatistics for a new joint appointment between the Melbourne School of Population and Global Health (Faculty of Medicine, Dentistry, and Health Sciences) and the School of Mathematics and Statistics (Faculty of Science) at The University of Melbourne.
The appointed Professor will be the Director of a new Biostatistics Research Hub, an exciting new initiative that will provide a focal point for biostatistics research, and related interdisciplinary collaboration, research training and teaching in the two faculties. The appointee will be expected to make major contributions in research, with an emphasis on the development of modern statistical methods relevant to health and biomedical research, contribute to teaching excellence of undergraduate and graduate course offerings in biostatistics and to contribute to the strengthening of multi-disciplinary research that relies on expert biostatistical collaboration.
There will be exciting opportunities to collaborate widely with biostatisticians located at the Biostatistics Research Hub and in other Statistics and Mathematical and Computational Biology research groups affiliated with the Hub, as well as with health and biomedical researchers throughout the University and University-affiliated hospitals and institutes.
