Working in the Department of Engineering Design and Mathematics, this post will focus on teaching students on our BSc Mathematics, BSc Mathematics & Statistics and MMath Mathematics awards and those on related disciplines across the University, for example in the Business School. The role will provide specialist teaching and support for statistics and mathematics within the curriculum. You will be joining a growing and ambitious department that values teaching and learning very highly. You will have the opportunity to contribute to developing the curriculum. UWE graduates already have a high rate of graduate employment but we are aiming to take this even higher through greater interaction between industry, research and education – you can be part of this journey. The successful candidate will be capable of delivering high quality research, scholarship outputs and/or engaging in knowledge exchange activities. The department currently supports research in mathematics and statistics in a variety of areas through the Applied Statistics Group and the Mathematics and its Applications Research Group. The faculty has a policy of supporting newly appointed lecturers with allocated time for research.
