The Statistics & Data Analysis Group within the Department of Business Administration and Economics at Bielefeld University has an opening for a postdoc position. The position is part-funded by the collaborative research centre (CRC) SFB/TRR 212, "A Novel Synthesis of Individualisation across Behaviour, Ecology and Evolution: Niche Choice, Niche Conformance, Niche Construction (NC3)". 
 The successful candidate will be actively involved in the activities of the CRC, and in particular - will develop novel statistical methods for making biological inference on niche choices from behavioural time series data (50 %)
 - will conduct some of the real-data analyses of empirical projects conducted within the CRC (35 %)
 - will contribute to teaching activities within the Department of Business Administration and Economics (10 %)
 - will be involved in administrative activities within the department (5 %) 
 We expect
 - a university degree in statistics or in a related field
 - a completed or nearly completed PhD degree in statistics or in a related field
 - a solid background in mathematical statistics
 - a track record in statistical method development
 - a good knowledge of statistical software (e.g. "R")
 - very good English language skills
 - ability to work independently and as part of a team
 - solid coordinating and organisational skills 
 Preferable qualifications
 - experience in interdisciplinary research
 - a solid background in time series analysis
 - knowledge of software for Bayesian inference (e.g. "Stan")
