The candidate will have educational responsibilities for courses in the domain of biostatistics in the Master of Statistics at Hasselt University. He/she will also teach courses in applied mathematics and statistics in various other programmes (bachelor/masters) at Hasselt University.
Research mission
It is expected that the candidate will strengthen and/or extend (both from a methodological and an application area perspective) the current research themes at CenStat and I-BioStat in the field of biostatistics. The candidate will direct a part of his/her research interests towards scientific consulting endeavors (including service teaching for research institutions and industry) and ensure a fruitful interaction between the consulting, education, and research mission.
Benefits
We will offer either an appointment as a lecturer in the tenure track system during 5 years (this will lead to an immediate permanent contract as a senior lecturer, if the Board of Directors favorably assesses the party involved, based on previously set public grading criteria). Otherwise, we will offer a fulltime appointment as a lecturer or a higher level, which will lead to tenure. In case of a first appointment as a member of the academic staff, the Board of Directors of the University can decide on a temporary appointment for a period up to 3 years. This will lead to a permanent contract if the Board of Directors favorably assesses the party involved.
