DESCRIPTION:
Research Contract Opportunity for PhD Thesis or Postdoctoral Researchers at Universitat Politècnica de València (Spain). The Multivariate Statistical Engineering Group (GIEM) of Universitat Politècnica de València is pleased to announce an exciting opportunity for researchers interested in pursuing a PhD thesis or postdoctoral research in the field of Statistics.
The research contract is associated to the research project CIAICO/2023/189, Statistical Machine Learning for Industry and Health 4.0, funded by Generalitat Valenciana (Spain).
The project focuses on the following objectives:
- Database processing of industrial processes and clinical trials in health care.
- Development and implementation of algorithms for the optimization of industrial processes using multivariate and functional regression models.
- Development and implementation of outlier detection algorithms, based on multivariate and functional techniques, for industrial batch process monitoring.
- Development and implementation of new techniques, based on functional regression models, to address the problem of synchronization of sample trajectories in industrial batch process monitoring.
- Development of new functional models for real-time prediction of the quality indicator of an industrial process.
- Multivariate statistical control of block processes using the Sequential Multi-block PLS (SMBPLS) technique.
- Study of the performance and properties of different variable selection techniques in predictive (soft sensors) and classification models in big data environments.
- Development and implementation of new alternatives for the analysis of magnetic resonance data (three- dimensional arrays) using functional data analysis techniques.
