Senior Lecturer in Clinical Trial Statistics
Closing Date : 14/05/2017
Salary : £49,772 to £59,400 per annum
We are looking for a Senior Lecturer to provide leadership in clinical trial statistics within the Manchester Academic Health Science Centre Trials Coordination Unit (MAHSC CTU) and to join the Centre for Biostatistics at The University of Manchester. The role is key to progressing and developing the strategy for the expansion of the MAHSC CTU and part of a major initiative to both develop clinical trials capacity and to expand and strengthen methodological research and training within the Faculty. The University and MAHSC partnership is investing in this and other senior trials posts to continue to deliver step change in trials capacity and capability. The Centre for Biostatistics engages in research into statistical methods arising from collaborative research undertaken with colleagues across the Faculty. This role will have a leadership position in the Centre for statistical methodology in clinical trials.
We wish to recruit a statistician with a biostatistics or clinical trials background and broad experience of the application of statistical methods to applied research questions. Candidates should have knowledge of trial design, implementation and evaluation and of the regulatory framework for clinical trials research in the UK. A proven track record of published research in peer-reviewed journals and of obtaining grant income commensurate with a Senior Lecturer level appointment is essential. Applications from candidates with expertise in early-phase trial design and experience of oncology trials would be particularly welcome.
