Applications are invited for a 12-month postdoctoral fellowship based in the University of Edinburgh Business School. The position will commence in 1st July 2021 and run until end of June 2022.
The candidate will work with Dr Belen Martin-Barragan and her team at the project "'Explainable AI in the Finance Industry', developing, analysing and evaluating explainable machine-learning based methods targeting the needs within the Financial Sector in Singapore. This will involve working with a variety of datasets from the Singapore Financial industry, such as those previously used for credit scoring models and alternative information that can better predicts credit risk. Both intrinsic and post-hoc methodology will be applied and evaluated in the context of the needs of the Financial Industry. Where necessary, the post-holder will collaborate with the project team to explore the development of new approaches to achieve the requirements of explainability in the industry.
Applicants will have completed, or be about to complete, a PhD in Statistics, Operational Research, Computational Science (Machine Learning) or a related field. Since the project will be data driven, some exposure to applied research and (especially) strong computational ability is required. Desirable knowledge includes (but is not limited to) experience on credit scoring or other applications in Banking and Finance.
Salary will be in the range £33,797 - £40,322, depending on experience.
