AI Research Scientist at AI Singapore

AI Singapore (AISG: AI Research ) is a national AI programme launched by the National Research Foundation (NRF) to anchor deep national capabilities in Artificial Intelligence (AI).

The programme office is hosted by the National University of Singapore (NUS) and brings together all Singapore-based research institutions and the vibrant ecosystem of AI start-ups and companies developing AI products to perform use-inspired research, grow the knowledge, create the tools, and develop the talent to power Singapore's AI efforts.

As a AI research scientist, you will conduct desk research to identify and propose fundamental research areas of significant impact and priority, and assist the Chief Scientist and Deputy Director in shaping of the grant call and reviewing and evaluation of the grant proposal submissions. You will also have the opportunity to engage in some of such state-of-the-art research, publish your work at scholarly venues, and contribute to the development of open source systems.

Qualifications

1. a doctoral degree in AI, machine learning, computer science, or related disciplines would be preferred;

2. extensive AI expertise, especially in core technical areas like machine learning, planning and reinforcement learning, knowledge representation and reasoning, multiagent systems, game theory and economic paradigms, heuristic search and optimization, search and constraint satisfaction, reasoning under uncertainty, natural language processing, computer vision, robotics, and/or cognitive modeling and systems; as well as in emerging areas like human-AI collaboration, learning with less data, explainable AI and interpretable machine learning, adversarial machine learning, AI and privacy, lifelong learning, and/or trustworthy AI;

3. a good publication record at premier AI and ML conferences;

4. excellent communications skills in both written and verbal English;

5. strong system-building and management skills and keen interests in working with emerging technologies and frameworks; and

6. an adventurous spirit and willingness to learn new ideas and new domains.
