JOB - Professor in Statistical Science, University College London

The Department of Statistical Science at UCL invites applications for a Professor in Statistical Science. The successful candidate will be expected to engage in world leading research in statistics or applied probability, and to provide academic leadership in the development of their subject area, as well as contributing to the teaching activities of the Department and to its management. The post is open-ended and is available from April 2018.

Applicants will need to have: a track record of research of a world class level of excellence in some area of Statistical Science; demonstrated ability to attract research funding; demonstrated commitment and ability to teach successfully in English at university level; experience of academic and administrative leadership and management; and a collegial approach with the ability to foster the strategic ambitions of others. Salary, dependent on qualifications and experience, will be on the UCL professorial scale, negotiable on appointment but with a minimum starting salary of 66,008GBP per annum plus London Allowance of 3,031GBP per annum. In addition, professorial posts in the Department of Statistical Science attract a market supplement of 15,000GBP per annum.

UCL operates a Relocation Scheme for newly appointed academic staff who relocate their home to take up their appointment. This includes a relocation supplement of 9,000GBP. A start-up package will also be available, subject to negotiation.
