The Institute of Computational Biology at the Helmholtz Zentrum München in Munich, Germany, is a globally recognized department for innovations in data analysis and modeling of biological systems, anchored at the Helmholtz Zentrum Munich and the Technical University Munich. We are at the forefront of developing robust and innovative methods to ultimately advance our understanding of human health and disease. To that end, we work on the integration of vast amounts of biological and biomedical data by using and developing machine learning, statistical and bioinformatics techniques.
For our international research project "An Integrated Systems Approach for Incompletely Penetrant Onco-phenotypes", funded by the National Institutes of Health (NIH), we are currently looking for a **Postdoctoral Researcher in Biostatistics**
Job Description:
- Statistical method development including implementation, evaluation and extension of methods
- Advancing existing single-cell analysis techniques
- Biological interpretation of data
- Research in collaborative projects
Your Qualifications:
- PhD degree in statistics, mathematics, bioinformatics, data science or similar
- Background in statistical learning/machine learning and ideally NGS analysis
- Very good programming skills, especially in R
- Passion for science and reproducible scientific work
- Proficient in spoken and written English
- Being comfortable in interacting with colleagues in an interdisciplinary setting
