The EPSRC (http://www.epsrc.ac.uk) has funded an exciting integrated research programme entitled Enabling Quantification of Uncertainty in Inverse Problems (EQUIP) http://www2.warwick.ac.uk/equip.
EQUIP is led by
Andrew Stuart (Warwick) PI
Gareth Roberts (Warwick)
Mark Girolami (Warwick as from January 2014) Mike Christie (Heriot Watt).
EQUIP seeks to develop the necessary novel mathematical, statistical and computational theory, methods and algorithms required to meet the demands of formally quantifying uncertainty in some of the most challenging large scale inverse problems faced by engineers, statisticians and mathematicians.
There are superb opportunities for ambitious post-doctoral researchers and PhD students to join the EQUIP team and work in a stimulating multi-disciplinary and collaborative research environment starting from January 2014. Please contact Andrew Stuart (This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.) directly with informal enquiries on how to join EQUIP.
EQUIP will have a Launch Day on 9th October 2013 details for registration can be found at http://www2.warwick.ac.uk/fac/sci/maths/research/events/2013-2014/nonsymp/equip/
