Applications are invited for a tenure-track Assistant Professorship in Statistics. The Department of Mathematical Sciences has a strong graduate program offering both MS degree and PhD in statistics, and in pure and applied mathematics. The department is dedicated to excellence in both research and teaching. Statistics faculty in the department are involved in both methodological and interdisciplinary research. Their research interests include Bayesian methods, spatial and environmental statistics, and statistical methods and computing for massive data. The normal teaching load for research-active faculty is 6 credit hours per semester with a 25% reduction for new faculty each of the first 2 years and a reduced service role. The job duties include maintaining an active research program, to constantly seek external funding, to mentor graduate students, and to teach both graduate and undergraduate courses.
