Position Announcement, MS/PhD Statisticians

Neptune and Company, Inc. is a consulting organization with offices in Los Alamos, New Mexico, and Denver, Colorado. Our team consists of about 30 biologists, ecologists, chemists, statisticians, computer programmers, decision analysts, engineers, mathematicians, modelers, and risk assessors who focus on finding and communicating technical solutions to difficult problems for government, non-profit, and private clients.

We are currently looking for statisticians who are interested in working with a dynamic group of fellow statisticians, decision analysts, and scientists to perform multi-disciplinary work in the environmental arena.

We seek candidates with strong mathematics and statistics skills, and expertise in one or more of the following areas:
- Bayesian statistical decision theory
- Probabilistic modeling of environmental systems, including spatio-temporal modeling
- Uncertainty and sensitivity analysis
- Simulation with MCMC
- Expert elicitation
- Statistical programming using R

Successful candidates will have excellent written and interpersonal communication skills, be able to convey statistical and scientific concepts to technical and non-technical audiences, and will be adept at working with others to solve complex environmental problems. MS/Ph.D. or equivalent experience is required.

Potential job locations are Denver, CO and Los Alamos, NM.
