The Faculty of Engineering and Applied Sciences at Universidad de los Andes, Chile, invites applications for a full-time position at the assistant or associate professor level. We are seeking highly qualified candidates committed to a competitive career in research and teaching. Prospective applicants should have a PhD degree in engineering. The positions available are:
1.- Chemical, Biochemical or Environmental Engineering (one position): Possible areas of specialization:
- Atmospheric pollution.
- Effluent treatment.
- Renewable energy.
2.- Industrial or Systems Engineering (one position): Possible areas of specialization:
- Financial and economic engineering.
3.- Civil Engineering (two positions): Possible areas of specialization:
- Structural and geotechnical engineering.
- Transport engineering.
- Water resources.
- Materials engineering.
4.- Mathematical Engineering, Ph.D in Applied Mathematics (one position): Possible areas of specialization:
- Optimization
- Control theory
- Partial differential equations
- Operations research
5.- Computer Engineering (one position): Possible areas of specialization:
- Software engineering
- Human-computer interaction
- Computer and education.
A record of outstanding research accomplishments and excellent teaching credentials (if applicable) as well as excellent communication skills are a requirement. We will specifically look for top publications, ability or potential to acquire research funding and to establish collaborations among fellow faculties and researchers abroad. Knowledge of Spanish is not required at the time of application.
