Job description
- Analysis of next generation sequencing data
- Analysis of large datasets, including preparation of scripts in Perl, , R, PYTHON...
- Development of innovative solutions to bioinformatics/statistical problems
- To shape, develop and maintain the current computing resources of the group (with support from the IT department)
Desired Skills and Experience
- Engineer or degree in computer science, biology or biochemistry. Preferably, double degree or additional experience in both disciplines, computer science and/or biology postgraduate, etc.
- Proficiency in the field of genomics.
- At least 2 years’ experience in NGS massive sequencing data analysis (exome, genome, panels, RNA-Seq). Proficiency in the use of bioinformatics software, aligners, variant calling, scorers , quality control, etc.
- Script programing languages: perl, python, etc. is indispensable
- Advanced Linux user
- Familiar with genetic databases and information: 1000 genomes, dbSNP , HGVS , RefSeq , Ensembl , EVS , HGMD , etc.
- Familiar with bioinformatics predictors and related software.
