Post-doctoral research position at CEMAPRE - University of Lisbon

The Centre for Applied Mathematics and Economics (CEMAPRE - MULTI/00491) based at ISEG - University of Lisbon offers one Post-doctoral research position in Applied Mathematics for one year with the possibility of renewal of up to another year.

CEMAPRE is an advanced research centre devoted to Applied Mathematics with an emphasis on problems coming from Economics, Management and Finance. It is unique in the Portuguese research panorama in what concerns its members’ range of interests:

CEMAPRE was established in 1984 as a research and scientific training unit based at the Department of Mathematics of ISEG, the oldest school of Economics in Portugal. It was classified as “Very Good” in the last R&D Units evaluation promoted by FCT in 2015.

Successful candidates are expected to engage in high-quality research activities at the centre, under the supervision of one of its members, and are also strongly encouraged to participate actively in all of CEMAPRE's scientific events. The centre will provide all the necessary conditions for international-level research work. The working language is English.

Funding for this position is available from FCT/MEC – Fundação para a Ciência e a Tecnologia / Ministério da Educação e Ciência, through national funds and, when applicable, co-financed by FEDER, under the Partnership Agreement PT2020.

Requirements:
Candidates should have:
a PhD degree in an area relevant to the scientific interests of CEMAPRE's members, preferably obtained less than 6 years ago; a high quality research record and proven research potential.

Deadline to apply: We will be accepting applications between October 8 and December 15, 2015.
Selection: The jury is composed by the managing board of CEMAPRE (João Lopes Dias (President), Jorge Caiado, José Pedro Gaivão, Rui Paulo and Nicoletta Rosati) who will select the candidates by CV evaluation. An interview may be required, which can be either in presence or through video-conference, and in that case the interview will be worth 30% of the final classification of each candidate.
