Wenceslao González Manteiga is Full Professor of Statistics at the University of Santiago de Compostela (USC) in Spain since 1992. He is the coordinator and main researcher of the group optimization models, decision, statistics and applications (MODESTYA). This research group was selected as a competitive group in the Community of Galicia (Spain) and principal investigator of projects currently active at the regional, national and European level. Elected member of the Royal Academy of Sciences of Galicia (RAGC). He is author and co-author of more than 200 scientific publications in impact journals in various fields. He was guest editor in Environmetrics and CSDA journals and co-author of more than 500 communications presented at national and international meetings. He was editor and co-editor of several international impact journals.


He was coordinator of important networks related with Consulting and Computing in Mathematics. He also was member of different commissions related with Agency for Research Evaluation in Spain and other European countries. He directs and co-directs several doctoral theses. He is a guest speaker at several relevant Statistics meetings nationally and internationally. He obtained several research awards.
