Applications are invited from a highly motivated Research Assistant/Associate with experience in epidemiology and/or statistics to join the Maternal and Perinatal Research team at Newcastle University. You will work on a range of ongoing studies in congenital anomaly and rare disease epidemiology using data from a variety of different sources. You will also contribute to the development of new projects, critical review of research literature, writing for publication and presentation of results. The post offers an excellent opportunity to gain experience in an active research environment and to contribute to an established research programme. You will be supported to develop applications for further personal or project funding, and if appropriate, to develop work for a higher research degree.
You should tailor your application according to the level of post you are applying for; an MSc in medical statistics or epidemiology is essential at Assistant level and a PhD is essential for appointment at Associate level. You will be appointed to a suitable point on the common pay scale according to qualifications and experience. You will be self-motivated, have excellent communication and writing skills.
