This position is based in the Institute of Health and Society within Newcastle’s internationally-renowned Faculty of Medical Sciences. The Institute exists to transform the health of individuals and populations through pioneering translational research and education in public health, health services research and health-related social science. It hosts the National Institute for Health Research Design Service (North East) as well as methodology teams in health psychology and health economics, and is directly linked to the UK Clinical Research Collaboration (UKCRC) Registered Clinical Trials Unit.

Chair (or Reader)

You will have an outstanding record of journal publication and grant capture in the field of biostatistics with strengths in state of the art methods and in applied methodological research, alongside an appreciation of the clinical research environment. You will play a pivotal role in developing biostatistical research at Newcastle, setting world-class standards through your own research, mentoring a team of statisticians at the Institute, and being at the forefront of multidisciplinary research across the Faculty and University.

Senior Lecturer
You will have significant experience in the field of biostatistics and demonstrable research excellence in the design and analysis of clinical research studies, including both the application of state of the art methods and in methodological research. You will have a strong track record of methodological research within areas of a clinical research application, with the ability to take the lead in some areas and contribute to a stimulating and broadly based biostatistics research programme with interaction to real problems seen in clinical research.
