Salary Grade 6 - £25,759 to £29,837 per annum (MBP01083)

Salary Grade 7 - £31,644 to £36,661 per annum (MBP01082)

Both posts have Open Ended Contracts, subject to Fixed Term Funding. Funding is available until 31 December 2016

Both positions will contribute, as team members, to the Innovative Medicines Initiative (IMI) funded GetReal project [further details at; http://www.imi-getreal.eu/] led at the University of Leicester by Prof Keith R Abrams. The GetReal project aims to improve the efficiency of the medicine development process by better incorporating estimates of relative effectiveness into drug development and to enrich decision-making by regulatory authorities and Health Technology Assessment (HTA) bodies. This will involve the development and application of statistical methods in a HTA context using a series of real-world case-studies to illustrate these.

Both posts will require experience (extensive in the case of the Grade 7 post) of biostatistics/medical statistics/applied statistics, simulation-based methods (including Markov Chain Monte Carlo), and meta-analysis/evidence synthesis methods (including network meta-analysis).

For the Research Assistant (Grade 6) post you will have a MSc in Biostatistics/Medical Statistics, Applied Statistics/Statistics, Operational Research or Health Economics and have experience of applying statistical modelling techniques to patient level data.

For the Research Associate (Grade 7) post you will have a PhD (or relevant MSc plus equivalent extensive research experience) in Biostatistics/Medical Statistics, Applied Statistics/Statistics, Operational Research or Health Economics and also have experience of applying statistical modelling techniques to patient level data.
