The Department of Mathematical Sciences at the University of Delaware invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the Assistant Professor rank in the broad area of Probability. The appointment is expected to start in Fall 2014.
We are seeking an outstanding scholar with a strong grounding in the full range of modern probability. The successful candidate will have demonstrated the potential to grow and maintain a world class research program that complements Department strengths in the area and to contribute to instruction in probability and stochastic processes at the graduate and undergraduate levels. The successful candidate will also actively contribute to the growth of the graduate program in mathematics, and seek external funding. Involvement in interdisciplinary research with scientists or engineers (e.g., in biology, biophysics, bioinformatics , chemical engineering, environmental sciences, machine learning, data analysis), will be highly encouraged.
Required qualifications for the position include a Ph.D. in probability or a related field, evidence of a significant, growing, research program with world-class potential, and a firm commitment to maintaining an integrated program of teaching and research.
