The Bristol Glaciology Centre at the University of Bristol has a vacancy for a Postdoctoral Researcher in Computational Statistics, researching sea level variations.

The primary aim of this project is to determine the factors influencing sea level rise by combining a range of satellite and ground-based observations within a Bayesian hierarchical model.

This post requires a background in statistical inference, preferably applied to problems in environmental sciences and/or spatio-temporal interpolation. This post is part of a European Research Council grant that includes four other positions tackling different aspects of the sea level budget problem.

Funding for this post is currently secured for up to 48 months.

The closing date for all applications is 23:59 on Thursday 16th June 2016. Interviews are very likely to be held in the week commencing 27th June 2016 and it is expected that the successful candidate will start their contract between August and October 2016.
