British Geological Survey: Post-Doctoral Research Associate, Stochastic Spatial Modelling -IRC235310

Primary Tasks:

To undertake statistical research into the spatial variability of X-ray CT imagery of soils, and so to identify models which can be used to characterize change in soil structure

apply these models to data generated in experiments undertaken at the University of Nottingham

collaborate with colleagues at UoN in the design of experiments and the interpretation and quantitative modelling of results

report the results of this research by writing papers with colleagues

to report the results of this research at scientific conferences and meetings.

Other Tasks:

To identify opportunities to apply the methods developed in this project to other questions of interest to BGS (e.g. modelling 3-D data on porous media).
