JOB ADVERT: Research Associate in Biostatistics, University of Manchester

We are advertising for a Research Associate in Biostatistics, to join the DIPLOMA research team.

The NHS and Diabetes UK are introducing Healthier You: the NHS Diabetes Prevention Programme (NHS DPP). People in England who are at risk of type 2 diabetes will be offered a practical course which aims to help them change their lifestyle and reduce their diabetes risk. DIPLOMA is a new £2 million programme of research, which will provide a comprehensive assessment of the NHS DPP.

We are recruiting a statistician with experience of analysing observational data. You will investigate what health outcomes patients achieve in the NHS DPP, and whether variation in take-up and outcomes is associated with the services delivered and patient characteristics. Analysis will be undertaken using an individual level patient data set collected by NHS DPP providers. You will have the opportunity to report on-going findings to the NHS, in order to influence the roll-out of the programme.

You will join The Centre for Biostatistics, which has an international reputation for applied collaborative research and innovative statistical research. This full time post is available from 1st October 2017 for 2.5 years.
