Two open positions - Lund University

We are looking for a researcher and a postdoc modelling biodiversity and ecosystem services in agricultural landscapes to join our team at the CEC in Lund, Sweden. These are two-year positions. This is an excellent opportunity for someone interested in using Bayesian modelling for evidence based decision making for environmental management involving many actors. We are looking for a researcher and an early-career postdoctor to join our ecosystem service modelling team at the Centre for Environmental and Climate Research (CEC) at Lund University. Our focus is on developing scientifically valid ecosystem service models and using them for evidence based policy making in several Swedish and European research projects. In particular, we develop process based models of pollination, pest control and nature conservation in agricultural landscapes to predict the impacts of land-use change. The models are used to study synergies and trade-offs between services for different land-use decisions. A focus will be on the impacts of land-use decisions on risks, ranging from farmer's individual risks to societal risks. Since models are to inform decision making, consideration and quantification of uncertainties are integral parts of the modelling and we are developing approaches to evaluate weaknesses and strengths in resulting evidence.
