Faculty Positions in Statistics at Ohio State

The Department of Statistics in the College of Arts and Sciences at The Ohio State University anticipates having four positions available effective Autumn Semester 2013.

Two of the positions focus on research in spatial and spatial-temporal analysis and/or applications in environmental or environmental-human interacting systems.

One position is open rank, the second is for a tenure-track assistant professor.

The third position is open rank and requires expertise in probability.

It is directed toward the College’s initiative in "Cyber-enabled Discovery – research facilitated in an essential way by modeling, algorithms and computation".

This position is expected to lead to a joint appointment in the Department of Mathematics.

The fourth position is open rank and focuses on modern statistics with special attention to the social and behavioral sciences.

Example areas of statistical expertise include hierarchical modeling and modeling complex systems.

Interest in broad applications in the social sciences including such areas as decision analysis and public policy is necessary.

This position will be a joint appointment with an appropriate social or behavioral science unit, depending on the candidate.

Candidates are expected to have a Ph.D. in Statistics (or related area) and to present evidence of excellence in teaching and in both methodological and collaborative research.
