Post-doc position (2 years) at the Bioinformatics and Genomics Department of the Príncipe Felipe Research Center, Valencia, Spain
We are seeking for an enthusiastic and qualified researcher in the area of bioinformatics and/or biostatistics to work on a full time position as part of an EU project. The candidate must hold a degree in computational Sciences, Biostatistics or Bioinformatics. Doctorate, MSc, PhD or equivalent will be considered.

Job description:
The researcher will addressed a project which joins efforts with eleven international and multidisciplinary labs and companies to create the bioinformatics and biostatistical framework for the integrative analysis of different types of sequencing data, proteomics and metabolomics.
As part of this EU project the researcher will conduct research in the development of statistical methods for the integration of very different types of omics data. The researcher will apply multivariate statistics, pathway analysis methods, linear models and other data mining approaches to develop integrative modeling. Develop R packages implementing these technologies and create predictive models that will be tested in the laboratory by our EU partners. Deal with data intensive omics databases.

Requirements:

  • A strong background in statistics and proficiency in statistical programming languages (R or Matlab)
  • Knowledge of the molecular aspects of genome organization
  • 2 years experience in Next Generation Sequencing data analysis.
  • Be communicative, assertive and skilled to work in a multidisciplinary team.


Merits:
High English level, spoken and written
Proficiency in other programming languages (Phyton, databases, etc)
