DESCRIPTION:
Dr. Salvador Naya (Grupo MODES, Universidade de A Coruña) is seeking outstanding postdoctoral researchers who hold a PhD (with no more than 8 years of full-time equivalent research experience) and are interested in developing a research project within his team, in the framework of the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Postdoctoral Fellowships 2026.
POSITION OVERVIEW: The proposed MSCA Postdoctoral Fellowship project will focus on the application of statistical and data science methods to real industrial challenges. Potential research topics include:
- Statistical modelling and machine learning for industrial data analysis.
- Quality control, anomaly detection, and process monitoring.
- Data-driven decision-making and predictive modelling.
- Integration of statistical methods in industrial digitalization and smart systems.
- The project is expected to follow a highly applied and interdisciplinary approach, combining methodological development with real-world industrial datasets and use cases.

REQUIREMENTS: Candidates should hold a PhD in Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science, or related fields, and demonstrate strong interest in applied research. The following profile is desirable:
- Solid background in statistics, data science, or applied mathematics.
- Programming skills (R and/or Python).
- Interest in machine learning, anomaly detection, and industrial data analysis.
- Motivation for technology transfer and collaboration with industry.
- Good communication skills and ability to work in multidisciplinary environments.
- Compliance with MSCA mobility rules (≤12 months in host country in last 36).
